Brotherhood on the Court: Aaron Quinn Brings Faith and Unselfishness to the 270 Hoops Player Development Camp

Aaron Quinn from Central Ohio FCA

This past weekend, young basketball players at the 270 Hoops Player Development Camp received more than skill instruction and competitive reps. They heard a message that cut to the heart of what it means to compete together.

Zach Fleer, co-founder of 270 Hoops, publicly thanked Aaron Quinn of FCA of Central Ohio for speaking to the campers. “I want to thank Aaron Quinn from FCA of Central Ohio for speaking to our campers about the concept of brotherhood, unselfishness and the love of God,” Fleer posted. “It was an impactful message from a great man who has done what most HS players aspire to do as a player and coach!”

Quinn, Multi-Area Director for Central Ohio FCA, drew from his own journey as a college athlete, coach, and athletic administrator. He challenged the players to prioritize the team over individual stats, to build genuine brotherhood, and to ground their efforts in faith. In a culture that often celebrates highlight reels and personal brands, the reminder that true success includes character and service landed with weight.

Zach Fleer, Northland High School, and the Mission of 270 Hoops

Zach Fleer is far more than a basketball media voice. A Columbus native, Ohio State graduate, and educator at Northland High School, Fleer co-founded 270 Hoops in 2015 with Jason Morrow. The platform has become the premier source for Central Ohio high school basketball coverage—game recaps, video highlights, prospect rankings, and showcases that help local talent gain college exposure.

Fleer’s work extends beyond the camera and keyboard. He has helped hundreds of athletes navigate the recruiting process, sometimes even assisting with practical needs like ACT testing. His faith fuels a deeper mission: using basketball as a vehicle for education, character development, and opportunity, especially for first-generation college-bound students. At Northland, where he serves on staff, Fleer stays connected to the daily lives of student-athletes in the Columbus City League, reinforcing the same values he promotes through 270 Hoops events.

270 Hoops is more than a media outlet. Through camps like the Player Development Camp and related initiatives (including the faith-oriented 270 Faith nonprofit), the organization creates structured environments for skill growth, competition, and life lessons. Players from middle school through high school gain exposure while learning teamwork and accountability.

A Partnership That Makes Sense

The collaboration between 270 Hoops and FCA of Central Ohio feels natural. Both organizations invest in young people through the platform of sports. 270 Hoops provides the basketball stage and visibility; FCA supplies the spiritual and character formation. Aaron Quinn’s appearance at the camp is a clear example of that partnership in action—bringing an experienced voice who has walked the path many of these athletes hope to follow.

In a single weekend, campers received high-level instruction, competitive games, and a call to something greater than themselves. Brotherhood. Unselfishness. The love of God. Those themes, delivered by a man who has lived them as a player and coach, gave the 270 Hoops Player Development Camp a lasting impact that extends well beyond the final score.
